Topic can refer to:
- An area of interest, also called a subject
- What a composition is about; what is described by the main ideas and supporting details
- Topic (or theme) in linguistics, the part of a proposition that is being talked about (predicated)

- An XML topic (a kind of resource)
- Topicality, a stock issue in policy debate which pertains to whether or not the plan affirms the resolution as worded
