Donald Trump will build a 24 story, 298 room $200 million hotel condominium tower on 200 feet of Fort Lauderdale's oceanfront at North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, just a few blocks from Las Olas Boulevard. : The Trump International Hotel will be located on North Atlantic Boulevard between Las Olas and Sunrise Boulevards and is named for famed real estate developer Donald Trump. Designed by Michael Graves, the building will feature a health club, spa and pool, and fine dining. Trump will partner with developer Roy Stillman of New York's Bayrock Merrimac LLC. Construction is anticipated to be completed in late 2008. The project will bear the title Trump International Hotel and Tower Fort Lauderdale. The current plan is to build 298 Hotel Condominium Units of which 150 will be studios, 75 will be 1 bedroom units, 73 will be 2 bedroom units. Other firms involved in the project include Stiles Construction Co., Oscar I. Garcia AIA Architects, and Galleria Collection of Fine Homes.
Construction is underway on the site where the 1950's Merrimac and Gold Coast hotels once stood. This is just south of The Atlantic, which is already open, and the W and the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.
